Peer Consulting
Consultation for new therapists and grad students—let’s chat about your goals and your future!
Let’s be real, being a therapist is one of the deepest honors I’ve ever experienced - it can also be really f*cking hard.
Outside of the support I provide to clients, I love getting to support grad students and other therapists. Consultation with me feels chill - we’ll meet via Zoom, chat about what you need, and dive right in. Most of the folks I consult with come prepared with a laundry list of questions to ask me - from tracking expenses to social media disclaimers to new client paperwork and everything in between - I aim to be a one-stop-shop for your burning questions, deepest fears, and biggest excitements.
You ask questions, I sit in the hot seat and give ya answers. The best part? If I don’t know the answer, I do quite literally everything I can to figure it out for ya.
a consultation is a space for you to ask questions, get real answers, & walk away with tangible guidance
support for new therapists
I’m a chill therapist, and I love getting to support other clinicians in deconstructing the blank-slate-super-clinical therapeutic approach we’re often taught in grad school.
I’m also a therapist who specializes in religious trauma, working with queer & trans folks, and taking a relational approach to therapy. I have lived experience as a queer person with religious trauma - I’m able to bring both the personal and professional into consultation meetings, something I deeply value and enjoy!
I worked in group practice for 2+ years and recently opened my own practice in Atlanta, Georgia. I have a steady stream of referrals (~25+/month), most of whom find me on social media (71K+ followers on TikTok, 99K+ followers on Instagram!). Private practice is often gatekeep-y, and I value sharing what I’ve learned to increase accessibility and transparency!
Client-related topics
Working with folks with religious trauma and/or navigating faith deconstruction or purity culture recovery
Working with trans & non-binary clients as a cis provider
Showing up authentically as a therapist(aka being a chill therapist, or whatever your vibe may be!)
Being a relational therapist
private practice and making a living as a therapist
Marketing yourself (this can, but doesn’t have to include, social media)
Utilizing social media as a therapist (with 71k+ followers on tiktok & 99k+ followers on insta, I love talking about this!)
Starting a private practice (think finances, think client paperwork, etc.)
Navigating the logistics of private practice (think scheduling clients, think first sessions, think supervision, think tracking CEUs, etc.)
Please note: consultation is NOT a substitute for supervision
Support for students & recent Grads
& those Interested In the Field
There’s very little support or guidance for folks graduating with an MSW, in particular those looking to start in private practice. I figured a few things out on my own, interviewed with 5+ practices, and received multiple job offers with group private practices in Atlanta, all without ever legitimately applying for a job.
In these meetings, you show up with questions or topics, and I give you real, unfiltered, honest answers based on my experience. I’d love to collaborate with you and share what I’ve learned!
You might be asking yourself the same questions I was When I was in the final semester of my MSW program
How do I market myself?
Should I post on social media?
How do clients find you?
What websites should I create profiles on?
How much money will I make?
How do you keep track of expenses?
How much does it cost to be in private practice?
How do you find a job?
How do you prepare for an interview?
What questions should I ask?
What does supervision look like?
How do I find a supervisor?
How much does that cost?
and so much more!
